I have two major (complementary) interests: *hydrodynamically-mediated processes in communities of aquatic plants – we know that marine plants alter the hydrodynamic conditions of their habitat. What does that mean for the primary production, nutrient fluxes and light availability to seagrasses and macroalgae? There are endless questions that can be asked around this theme. |

| *impact of global changes on coastal plant communities – I am interested in how increasing CO2 levels in the atmosphere (and consequently also in the water) impact the productivity of marine plants. I am also interested in the effect of UV-B radiation on coastal emergent and submersed plants. I like to put these effects of global change in an ecological perspective, especially in a hydrodynamic context. | |
