Dr. Laura Murray

Outreach Education

As an educator, my primary goal is to link the world-class research conducted at the HPL with science education, both formal (K-12) and informal. My involvement in environmental science education includes conducting professional development workshops for teachers and informal educators, providing research experiences for teachers, establishing research-based programs for K-12 students, and administrating programs that partner scientists, educators and students.

Research Interest

My expertise and research interests include seagrass and wetlands ecology, with a focus on the response of submersed aquatic vegetation to nutrient enrichment and in its restoration in the Chesapeake Bay. Recently, we have included several programs for education in our SAV restoration ecology program.
