- SST is based on a linear regression between model surface air temperature and observed bay temperature. The regression is: sst(C)=0.82976*tas+0.30168*(tas 2 months prior)+1.63802 Adjusted R-squared: 0.9649 - This regression is not general, and is specific to the model air temperature with its inherent errors and biasses. - Although the sst is similar to air temperature, the magnitudes are slightly larger, and the summer and fall conditions more similar. |
