Note: Each model was bias corrected using its annual mean temperature bias for the 1970-1999 period. A 2 degree urban heat island effect was added to the Urban data.

- The points represent 20 year centered averages

- The MD state climatologist indicates that observed T>90F occurs 2-10 days in the Appalachians, 15-25 days in the coastal areas, and 30-40 days in Baltimore. The bias corrected model 20th century estimates (31 days, 42.5 days with 2 degree urban heat island effect included) are broadly reasonable.
