Welcome to our website. We are a team of physical oceanographers with a research focus on estuarine/coastal circulations, upper-ocean dynamics, turbulent mixing processes and biological/physical interactions. We employ a suite of numerical models to tackle oceanic problems. Regional Ocean Modeling System (ROMS) is used to develop a three-dimensional circulation model for the Chesapeake Bay. Large Eddy Simulation (LES) model is used to investigate turbulent mixing processes in the ocean surface and bottom boundary layers.

We are actively engaged in multi-disciplinary research projects. We investigate how physical processes affect plankton productivity in estuaries. We have examined how turbulent processes in the upper ocean affect oil dispersion in marine waters.
